Jamb - Please select a wood species that matches your door selection. Mahogany and Knotty Alder are hung on flat jambs + stops (up to 5-1/4"). Rustic, Bamboo and jambs wider than 5-1/4" are hung on rabbetted jambs.

Door Height - Select a height that matches your door selection.

Jamb Width - The width of the door jamb, either 4-9/16", 5-1/4" or 6-5/8", depends on whether your entry is framed with 2x4's or 2x6's. To measure jamb width, open the door and measure the jamb. Do not include any of the trim work or casing. Most interior doors will use a 4-9/16" jamb.
For custom sizes less than 6-5/8" please type the desired size in the notes section and select the 6-5/8" jamb width.

Hinges - 3-1/2"x3-1/2" full mortise, 1/4" radius round corners, plain bearing residential hinges in solid Brass, Bronze or Zinc.

Pre-Drill For Handle - We will pre-drill the door for a handle with 2-3/8" backset. The backset is the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the bore hole.

Flush Bolt - Double doors going into a bedroom or office where privacy is desired will require a conventional lock prep on the active door. You must determine which door will be used the most and this will become the active side. The passive side is secured with a flush bolt into the top jamb. This will keep the passive door stationary and locked in place which gives the active door something to latch into. The flush bolt can easily be unlatched to allow for full opening of both doors. Flush bolt color will match hinges color.
Double doors for closets usually have ball catchers or roller catchers installed in the tops of the doors to hold them shut. Dummy knobs are used on double doors with ball or roller catchers and should not be prepped for a conventional lockset and flush bolt.
We do not install ball catchers or roller catchers!
If you select not to have flush bolt installed we will not pre-drill the door for handle and we will not install flat astragal.

By adding the pre-hung option to your door selection, you will receive a full unit with the door(s) prepped, hinged and assembled to your specifications. This complete package ensures smooth, easy installation with a precise fit. Please add two doors to your cart along with this option if you wish to order a pre-hung double doors. Price below doesn’t include doors.

Pre-hung assembly includes:

Your choice of solid wood jambs in 4-9/16", 5-1/4" or 6-5/8"
3-1/2"x3-1/2" steel hinges in Zinc, Brass or Bronze on 1-3/8" thick doors (3 hinges for 80" door, 4 hinges for 84" and 96" door)
Pair of 6" flush bolts
Predrilled cylinder bore in 2-3/8" backset for handle on active door (if you wish to have both doors predrilled please note it below.)

To calculate rough opening add 2” to the total width of the two doors and 2” to the height of the door.

To prevent damage during transit pre-hung units will be delivered knocked down (disassembled). Some assembly required.
